Call me LP!

Hi, I'm LP, and I've been immersed in the animation industry for over 25 years. My journey began as an artist, working as a character designer and storyboard artist. However, I soon discovered my passion for production and the significant impact one can have in shaping a project by understanding both the creative and financial aspects. This unique 360-degree perspective, understanding both the creative imperative and the financial realities, is something I value deeply.

Early in my production journey, I had the privilege of working on Mighty Mike, a Canada-France co-production TV series. This was a pivotal experience as it was the first project where I was involved in the financing stage, providing invaluable insights into how animation projects get off the ground. Later, I proudly served as a producer on 10 Lives, my first feature film. This project was incredibly rewarding, allowing me to leverage both my creative and production expertise to ensure the film's scope aligned with our budget in a challenging market. I also played a key role in bringing together the co-production for The Last Whale Singer, a Canada-Germany-Czech Republic animated feature, acting as a 'matchmaker' to connect the necessary partners and facilitate the project's realization.

In 2021, my wife Virginie and I co-founded The Happy Producers. Our mission is rooted in the belief that well-being can and should be integrated into the animation production process, starting with thoughtful bidding and budgeting. Through The Happy Producers, I'm dedicated to sharing my experience and offering guidance to help others navigate the complexities of animation financing and production in a positive and sustainable way.
